“To blog or not to blog, that is the question”
Blogging is a must for businesses these days? Everything points in the direction of it being not just this season’s ‘Must Have’ but an essential asset for business communication.
There are a wide variety of blogging platforms on offer and although I recommend WordPress I do appreciate there are other perfectly adequate platforms out there that can provide similar benefit. The main benefit being a way to get noticed.
Having got your blog up and running, then what do you write? That’s a common question I get asked. Seems obvious, but actually you need some kind of strategy underpinning the content you’re putting out.
Blog management and content creation services are available. If you’re not particularly good at writing articles it might be something to consider, but the results can end up lacking your ‘personality’ and that’s actually what often makes a connection with readers.
Just get on in there and have a go, is my advice. Don’t aim for ‘practice makes perfect’, rather ‘practice makes the words flow more easily’. Pretty soon writing a post for your blog won’t seem quite so intimidating.
Personally I don’t recommend either managed blogs or content generation services as both can result in page fillers of information doing the rounds at that particular moment in time. Very soon your blog will be like so many others, bland.
So, when writing your next post let you, the person, shine through a bit. You’ll find your readership grows.
